The SAToolz for DIRECTV Satellite Finder makes it easy to determine the best location to setup your DIRECTV satellite dish or DIRECTV mobile satellite dish. This application will quickly allow you to determine if you have line of sight at your current location.

This app allows you to see if there are any obstructions in the way prior to placing your dish such as trees or buildings.

Use this app when camping, RVing, tailgating or at home. Use it anytime you need to know if those trees, buildings or any type of obstacle might be in the way.

The following DIRECTV satellites are supported: 95°w, 99°w, 101°w, 103°w, 110°w and 119°w.

This is accomplished by using the iPhones built in video camera with an overlay of all the DIRECTV residential satellites as dots in the sky.

To use, simply point your iPhone towards the southern sky and see on the live video screen. The DIRECTV satellites will show up as red dots as you move the video camera around, allowing you to quickly and easily determine if there are any obstructions in the way, like trees or buildings.

This software allows you to see if satellite reception is plausible at your current location and is not intended to help align your dish.

When using this application the iPhones internal compass is used to help locate satellites in the sky. It is extremely important that this software is used outdoors away from objects that can cause interference to the compass. Any compass interference will cause the satellites to move sporadically. Please avoid using this software by any object that can cause magnetic interference.

Im very happy with the performance of this app. I use it when Im camping and when there are obstructions like trees I can find a place to place my dish and get a reference Point to help aim the dish. Works great. I have a iPhone 6s+.
No need for a compass. Great when other roof lines or trees might be in the way. Thanks!

Some bad moments

Some reviews have me hope that this would work. NOPE. I can find the satellites but theyre completely in the wrong position. I can shake my phone a certain way and get them to show up close to the location but how can I trust this for anywhere other than my house. I was in the middle of my yard with nothing around me. My iPhone compass app was spot on (which is what this app claims to use). Please come out with an update to fix this or refund everyones money.
outstanding app for setting up a Dish away from your RV when you have a lot of trees. We carry a Directv dish for this purpose, this along with and adj. tripod, and is a 15 min. setup.
Very handy app to show customers a no-line. I install direct TV for a living and use every day. Its not 100% but it gives you a good idea. I would recommend this to anyone in this line of work.

I am a service tech and a trainer with Directsat. I have compared this app to the reading of my inclinometer and it was off by 18 degrees thats a BIG oopsie in my business. This app is supposed to do one thing and one thing only and it has failed to do so. Get it off the app store before new employees with directv butcher a bunch of roofs and give our customers poor service
Does not work and is about 18 degrees off so do not trust it at all sorry it was a waist of money
